Half day adventure in Fulton, IL

The day starts with visiting Fulton's Dutch Windmill, which was manufactured and pre-assembled in the Netherlands. Then have some good food at Krumpets Restaurants and go for a stroll in downtown Fulton, stopping by at gift shops, grabbing THC infused cupcakes, and ending the day visiting Heritage Canyon, a 12-acre wooded structure and nature walk dotted with buildings that take visitors back to the 1800s.

  1. De Immigrant Windmill

    Fulton

    Fulton's Dutch Windmill was manufactured and pre-assembled in the Netherlands. Following the delivery to Fulton, the Windmill was assembled and installed by Dutch craftsmen. Standing nearly 100 ft. tall, the massive timbers are assembled with wooden pegs. The dedication of the new Dutch Windmill took place during the Dutch Days Festival 2000. This is definitely a nice instaworthy stop! Unfortunately, I was not able to get to the cultural center as it was closed during my visits.   2. Krumpets Restaurant & Bakery

    This is a must-stop if you are visiting Northwest Illinois as they definitely have some amazing unique food to offer and tons of baked goods. I enjoyed their hot beef served with bread and mashed potato, which I definitely thought was kinda unique. Like a roast beef sandwich with mashed potato? They also have tons of other specials only available at their restaurants while also offering baked goods starting from cupcakes, cookies, pies, and more. Address: 1016 4th St, Fulton, IL

  3. Dandelion Wishes

    This is a nice local gift shop featuring arts, collectibles, handmade goods, and more. They also carry seasonal items, such as during Thanksgiving or Christmas. I got myself a nice handmade soap and lip balm for the trip. This shop can also be a nice stop if you want to bring something for the little ones at home or buy souvenirs for friends.   4. Gold Leaf Bakery & Dispensary

    Fulton

    A must-stop for THC-Cannabis lovers, starting with baked goods, muffins, brownies, cookies, mini cupcakes, drinks, cookies, and candies, they have tons of THC-infused products. They also sell merchandise for the fans, and next to the shop, there is also a place that sells coffee and other THC infused items. Address: 1016 4th St, Fulton, IL

  5. Heritage Canyon

    I had an amazing time visiting the Heritage Canyon, which is a 12-acre wooded structure and nature walk dotted with buildings that take visitors back to the 1800s. I started my tour with a hot chocolate stop then visited the Santa's workshop, where there was an option to make/design your own cookie. TI loved walking through the swinging bridge and there were also multiple different stops with tons of different activities for both adults and the children.
