Prophetstown
Prophetstown takes its name from a Sauk and Winnebago village once led by the prophet Wabokieshiek, an ally of Black Hawk, at the meeting of the Rock River and Rock Creek. Prophetstown State Park now occupies that same ground, with camping, canoe access, and river frontage a short walk from downtown.
