Give leftover Halloween pumpkins a smashing send-off at Sauk Valley Community College's free Pumpkin Smash, where family-friendly fun meets environmentally friendly composting!
Give those leftover Halloween pumpkins one last hurrah at the Pumpkin Smash on Saturday, November 7, from 10 a.m. to noon at Sauk Valley Community College!
This free, outdoor event invites families and community members to smash their pumpkins for a good cause. Instead of tossing them in the trash, participants can help turn pumpkins into nutrient-rich compost for next year's crops.
The fun takes place in the field east of the college building, with pumpkin-smashing stations and activities provided by Illinois Extension, Whiteside Area Career Center, 4-H, Ag in the Classroom, FFA, and Sauk Valley Community College.
Attendees should park in the Dillon Mall parking lot and follow the sidewalk to the event entrance. Admission is free, and no registration is required.
